Balloting Out Procedure

The purpose of this procedure is to set out the rules to be applied where an event is oversubscribed.

The Secretary will keep an attendance register which will record the attendance of each individual member of the TLGA at each event.  Using the information it contains, the following rules will be applied:

 
Individual Stroke Events
  • All professionals will be excluded

​

The Secretary will then:

  • Calculate by how many the event is over subscribed

  • Exclude the required number of members based upon each member’s attendance record of the last six events

 
Team Events
  • All professionals and their amateur partners will be excluded

 

The Secretary will then:

  • Calculate by how many the event is over subscribed

  • Exclude the required number of teams based upon the cumulative attendance record of each team member over the last six events

  • The teams will then be ranked in order and should a further decision need to be made on where to draw the line, each player’s individual record be taken into account

 

The final decision will be the responsibility of the Secretary to that event and will be final.
